Dolly

DollyDollyDolly

Dolly just can't wag her tail hard enough for the Illinois Humane volunteers who take her to obedience class, and out for runs, and to adoptions. Dolly's strongest affinity is for women, but with a proper introduction and good handling skills on the part of the individual (and treats), Dolly will become as devoted to a man.  Her idea of life is for it to be girls' night out every night. She would assimilate most easily in a home made up of  one or two women, out on an acreage. But, as stated above, she does have some men friends too.  .

Being a cattle dog, Dolly will take charge if you don't.  In ensuring the proper permanent placement of this dog, Illinois Humane will only approve an experienced dog handler as a permanent adoptive home for Dolly.  Illinois Humane handlers call her Dolly Dumpling, because she can be such a marshmallow with proper handling.  In any household, Dolly will serve as a good guard animal.  This  marshmallow will turn into a small Marine corps on four legs if alerted.

Dolly came to Illinois Humane at the behest of a Good Samaritan who came across her as a stray.  It was apparent Dolly had just whelped a litter of pups. Dolly is approximately four years of age, spayed, predominantly black and tan, up-to-date on shots.
